You First: Stop People Pleasing, Start Centering Yourself

A digital workbook for first-gen professionals who are ready to stop living by everyone else's rules.

You have spent your whole life being the one everyone can count on.

It is time to count on yourself.

Let me tell you what I already know about you

01

You woke up this morning already thinking about what everyone else needs

02

You have achieved everything you were supposed to and something still feels off

03

You feel guilty when you slow down like rest is something you have to earn

04

You have been so good at taking care of other people that you forgot to take care of yourself

None of that is a discipline problem. None of that is a character flaw.

That is what happens when you spend your whole life living by rules that were never yours to begin with.

What it is

You First is an 8-session, 30-page digital workbook for first-gen professionals who are done putting themselves last.

It is a clinically grounded, culturally honest resource that finally gives you the space to ask: what do I actually need?

Each session includes a real story you will recognize, the psychology behind what you are feeling, and exercises that help you actually start shifting it.

All grounded in real clinical practice and lived experience.

this is for you if

You say yes before you have even checked in with yourself

You feel guilty resting, even when you have more than earned it

You are the one everyone calls first, but you cannot remember the last time someone asked how you were doing

You have built a life that looks successful from the outside and feels suffocating from the inside

You catch yourself asking "is this it?" and then immediately feel guilty for asking

You are ready to stop performing your life and start actually living it

Dr. Lisette

I am Dr. Lisette Sanchez, a licensed psychologist and the founder of Calathea Wellness. I specialize in first-gen mental health and I have spent my career working with high-achieving first-gen professionals who are brilliant at everyone else's needs and still learning how to meet their own.

I built this workbook because I needed it once too. As an eldest daughter of immigrants, I know what it feels like to put yourself last and call it loyalty. I know what it costs. And I know what it feels like to finally, slowly, start choosing yourself.

This workbook is what I wish I had.

faq

Is this therapy?

No. This is an educational and reflective resource, not a substitute for professional mental health care and it does not constitute a therapeutic relationship. If you are experiencing significant distress, please reach out to a licensed mental health professional. If you are already in therapy, this workbook can be a meaningful companion to that work. What if I am not first-gen?

The workbook is written for first-gen professionals but the experiences it addresses, guilt, people pleasing, self-sacrifice, and learning to center yourself, are not exclusive to first-gen people. If it resonates, it is for you.

How long does it take to complete?

There is no timeline. Each session takes about 30 minutes, sometimes a little longer depending on where the prompts take you. Some people move through it in a weekend. Others take it one session at a time over several weeks. You set the pace.

What format does it come in?

A digital PDF you can download immediately after purchase. You can print it or work through it digitally.

Do I need to complete it in order or can I jump around?

The sessions are designed to build on each other so moving through them in order is recommended. That said, if a particular session is calling to you, trust that.

Will this work if I have already done a lot of self-work?

Yes. This workbook is not about starting over. It is about going deeper into the specific patterns that first-gen professionals carry that most self-help resources never address. If you have done the work, this is the next layer.

You have always been worth centering.
